San San Kudo Sake Set in Brownstone - Handmade to Order

        This seven piece handmade pottery San San Kudo Sake set is wheel thrown from a durable stoneware clay. This San San kudo wedding ceremony set is glazed in our rustic Brownstone glaze, with blue colored glass pressed and in the bottoms of the cups.

This is a modern take on a traditional san san kudo wedding ceremony set. San-San-Kudo literally means “three, three, nine times.” The bride and groom take turns taking three sips each of three different bowls of sake, each one larger than the next. Three is an indivisible number, and it is considered a sacred number in Buddhism. By exchanging the nuptial sake sips—three times three—husband and wife are united.

As with all handmade pottery slight variation in color and size may occur.

All of our stoneware pottery is fully functional, lead free, non toxic and food safe, as well as dishwasher and microwave safe.
